Theodore “Ted” Walther Koester, age 78, of Nancy, KY., departed this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his residence.
Ted was born on April 22, 1939 in Englewood, CO., to the late Alfred and Frieda Sielag Koester. He was of Lutheran faith and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Somerset. He was a retired Systems Analyst from Citi Bank and served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Elain Pierce, one daughter, Laurie (and Sam) Mertens of Silver Spring, MD; two grandchildren, Calvin and Isaac Mertens of Silver Springs, MD; one brother, Albert (and Cathy Jo) Koester of Pearce, AZ; and one sister, Sherry (and Jim) Schupbach of Bozeman, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred, Frieda, and Lorry Koester.
Private inurnment will be held by the family at a later date at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
