Thelma Ruth Hawk, age 66, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Thelma was born on September 24, 1951 in McCreary County to the late Morris H. McKee and Helen Louise Hall McKee. She was a member of New Heart Baptist Church. Thelma loved sewing, singing, bowling and helping other people. She was also an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Hawk, whom she married on August 25, 1990 in Somerset; two sons, William Paul (and Christy) Young of Eubank and Christian T. Hawk (and Dakota Weaver) of Somerset; two daughters, Carmella “Candi” (and Rodney) Combs of Science Hill and Angella Young Campbell of Somerset; three brothers, Morris J. (and Christie) McKee of Sloans Valley, Dean (and Betty) Mckee of Somerset and Curtis McKee of Sloans Valley; three sisters, Cherrie Cusson of Burnside, Helena Morgan (and Junior) Wilson of Sloans Valley and Iris McKee Thompson of Somerset; nine grandchildren, Faith Oaks, Luke Campbell, John Campbell, Owen Campbell, Jason Campbell, Elias Hawk Young, Joshua Koger, Samantha Koger and Charlie Jane Hawk; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Big Bill” McKee and Jimmy L. McKee.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Sloans Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean McKee, Curtis McKee, Morris “Shorty” McKee, Christian Hawk, William Paul, John Campbell and Luke Campbell.
