Lewis L. “Tee” Phelps, age 57, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Tee was born on August 26, 1960, in Somerset, KY, to the late Gerald E Phelps and Bonnie Rose Simpson Phelps. He was a self-employed Professional Land Surveyor and a retired engineer from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Tee was a 1978 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1983 graduate of The University of Kentucky College of Engineering.
Tee was a unique man who loved his job, playing golf, baseball, watching the Cats, and spending time with his friends and family. He cherished his family and his three dogs Kohl, Kaleigh, and Beau. He worked hard and completed every task with excellence. He will be forever missed by those who love him.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Alison Wiles Phelps, whom he married on July 11, 1987, in Somerset, KY; one son, Brett McDaniel Phelps of Somerset; one daughter, Shelbie Alison Phelps (and Graham) Withers of Lexington, KY; three brothers, Billy “Boo” (and Jeanette) Phelps of Somerset, Jeffrey Howard (and Melody) Phelps of Somerset, and Charles Robert (and Sherry) Ritter of Liberty, KY; one sister, Sara Jean (and Rick) Girdler of Somerset; two brothers-in-law, Joseph L. “Joey” (and Rachel) Wiles of Somerset and Steven Wiles of Nashville, TN; father-in-law, JP Wiles (and JoNell) Wiles of Somerset and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Tee was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Ruth Beasley Wiles.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, after 5:00 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brett Phelps, Boo Phelps, Jeff Phelps, Charlie Ritter, Roger Gover, Dale Taylor, and Donald Burgin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to East Somerset Baptist Church or the Pulaski County Humane Society.
