JoAnna Phelps, age 70, of Cynthiana, KY, and formerly of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

JoAnna was born on January 6, 1947 in Somerset, KY to the late Agnes Mae Delk Helton and the late Eugene Wright Shadoan.  Her life revolved around her grandkids.  JoAnna loved working jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and word problems.  She worked at Super One Stop, Video Palace, Palm Beach and several years at Oakwood before retiring in 2006.

She is survived by one daughter, Tamra Phelps of Cynthiana; one son, Rob (and Angela) Phelps of Cynthiana; one sister, Emma Jean Dye of Science Hill; three grandchildren, Brooke Phelps, Eli Phelps and Jacob Phelps; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Eulanda Sue Walker; and an infant son, James Fred Phelps.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Mullins officiating.  Burial will be at Pine Thicket Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Eli Phelps, Steve Dye, Sean Dye, Chuck Dye, Anthony Dye and Bryce Dye.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Phelps and Caden Dye.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Pine Thicket Cemetery.
