Gladys Marie Jackson, age 90, of Monticello, KY., departed this life on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

Gladys was born on August 20, 1927 in Stearns, KY., to the late John Godsey and Alma Lavender Godsey.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph (and Mimi) Jackson of Gloucester, VA; and Jimmie “Jr” (and Alice) Jackson of Burnside, KY; three grandchildren, Stacey (and Adam) Jackson Bloom of Atlanta, GA; Ben (and Jordan) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; and Jimmie Jackson II (and Andrea) of Villa Hills, KY; three great-grandchildren, Lindsey Jackson, Piper Jackson, and Emma Bloom, two step-grandchildren, Chris (and Mandi) Jones and Brianne (and Chase) White, five step great-grandchildren, Halle Jones, Hunter Jones, Madeline White, Kierson Cunningham, and Corinthia Cunningham; and one sister, Lois (and Jim) Holland of Florida.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Jackson, of whom she married on February 2, 1948 in Williamstown, KY; and three brothers, Paul, Bob, and Ken Godsey.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Reggie Stringer, Eddie Phelps, Ben Jackson, Chris Jones, Jimmie Jackson II, and Chase White.
