Ellis “Sam” Wesley, age 87, of Shady Grove, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab.

Ellis was born on June 27, 1930 in Pulaski County to the late James Edgar Wesley and Sadie Jasper Wesley.  He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church since 1959.

He is survived by two sons, James Ellis (and Norma) Wesley of Eubank and Ray (and Shirley) Wesley of Shady Grove; one daughter, Peggy (and Roger) Burdine of Eubank; five grandchildren, Jason (and Kayla) Wesley, Johnny (and Tina) Cook, Lana (and Bryan) New, Danny (and Jessica) Burdine and Jessica (and J.C.) Godigkeit; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Margie (and Frank) Warren of King Bee; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Wesley of Somerset and Freida Wesley of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Dick Wesley, whom he married on December 15, 1948, and she preceded him on December 23, 2009; three brothers, Paul Wesley, James Edgar Wesley Jr. and Roy Wesley; one son-in-law, Gary Cook; and two grandchildren, Tony Wesley and Ryan Burdine.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home

His funeral service will follow on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Randolph and Bro. Cecil Bowling officiating.  Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Shady Grove Cemetery Fund.
