Donnie was born on June 10, 1948 in Stanford, KY to Russell Harper and the late Geneva Mae Bullock Harper.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana Roy Harper, whom he married on April 6, 1968 in Argyle, KY; one daughter, Kelly (and Bobby) Bowling of Somerset; one son-in-law, Don Hurt of Somerset; his father, Russell Harper of West Chester, OH; two sisters, Brenda (and Charlie) Helton of West Chester, OH and Wanda Durham of Morrow, OH; three grandchildren, Donovan Hurt, Devan Hurt, and Jordan McColly; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Bullock Harper; and a daughter, Kimberly Rose Hurt
Donnie was a licensed barber and a long haul truck driver who owned and operated various types of commercial trucks. He had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. He enjoyed giving to the less fortunate in life and had a comical sense of humor which left a lasting impression on those he met. Donnie enjoyed fishing, antiques, car and truck shows, all different types of motorsports, and loved attending Potter’s Place Church.
Donnie will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but they will always cherish his memory and hold those memories dearly in their hearts and minds.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
