Carrol Dee Helton, age 86, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Covenant Village in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Carrol was born on January 4, 1932 in Sloans Valley, KY to the late Herbert Dee Helton and Evelyn Marcum Helton.  He worked as a Lab Tech for Formica, retiring in 1994.  Carrol was an active and devout member of Friendship Baptist Church in Cincinnati, until his health no longer permitted.  He enjoyed fishing, and was a UK Basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan.

He is survived by his wife, Willena Mae Mullins Helton, whom he married on December 22, 1956 at Eden Baptist Church in Somerset, KY; one son, Herbert Marvin (and Carole) Helton of Cincinnati; one sister, Louise Helton Valentour of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Adam Scott (and Ashley) Helton and Sara Beth (and Sean) Jones; two great-grandchildren, Juliet Jones and Alexander Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Glenna Ruth Valentour; and one half-brother, Floyd Helton who was killed during Pearl Harbor.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1:30pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Schrenker  and Bro. Gary Jackson officiating.  Burial will be at Sloans Valley Cemetery.
