Otis Carnell “Mac” McAninch, age 87, of Mt. Victory, KY., departed this life on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at his residence.
Carnell was born on July 22, 1930 in Casey County to the late Otis McAninch and Vina Greer McAninch. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and music. Carnell loved his work and enjoyed using the Backhoe and other equipment for his businesses. He was the former owner of Waynesburg Lumber Co. and owner/operator of a private plumbing business.
He is survived by three daughters, Jean (and Fred) Padgett, Rita Slone and Carnetta Collins, all of Waynesburg; one son-in-law, Lyndell Sims of Kings Mountain; one sister, Geraldine Sanders of Brownsburg, IN, seven grandchildren, Janica (and Larry) Carrier, Justin (and Kasey) Padgett, Carrie Slone, Brandon Collins, Tenisha Collins, Kinley Sims and Wendell (and Tammy) Sims; eight great grandchildren, Kenton Sims, Arianna Sims, Jentry Carrier, Dalton Carrier, Caleb Sims, Jaycee DeVine, Parker DeVine and Josh Sims; his former wife, Sally Anderson; and special friends, Linda Hensley and her daughter, Lisa Stearns, who took care of him.
Along with his parents, Carnell was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hensley McAninch; one daughter, Judy Sims; two sisters, LaVaughn Sowders and Jacqueline Snow; and one granddaughter, Tuanya Slone.
His visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Monday at 1:00pm with Bro. Greg Lockard and Bro. Steve Sutton officiating. Burial will be at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg. Pallbearers will be Robert Massengill, Lige Stearns, Wendell Sims, Kinley Sims, Mike Sanders and Terry Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Padgett and Brandon Collins.
