Arthur Lee Girdler, age 95, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 04, 2017 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Arthur was born on October 23, 1921 in Somerset, KY to the late Benjamin Girdler and Angie Vaughn Girdler.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in North Africa and Italy. Arthur was in the 1st Armored Division and was a Purple Heart recipient.  He was longtime employee of Crane until his retirement and a longtime member of Chesterview Baptist Church. He enjoyed walking and working at his farm.

He is survived by one son, Gary (and Lucy) Girdler of Somerset; one daughter, Sandra (and Bob) Miller of Nancy; one step-son, Jim (and Deloris) Taylor of Lebanon, OH; one brother, Cleo (and Barbara) Girdler of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Rachel Redmond and Regina (and Charles) Godby of Somerset, KY; four grandchildren, Sonya (and Kevin) Roark, Rob (and Shawn) Miller, Richard (and Debbie) East and Delice Bales; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer (and Chris) Luckett; three step-grandsons; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina Elizabeth Redmond Girdler, who preceded him on June 5, 1970; his second wife, Eula Christine Wilson Girdler, who preceded him in July 2016; one sister, Mary Girdler; three brothers, Charlie Girdler, Frank Girdler and Ernest Girdler; two great granddaughters; and one step-grandson.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  His funeral service will follow on Sunday at 3:00pm in the Chapel.

Burial will be on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 9:00am at Mill Springs National Cemetery.  Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
